There's less than a week left to cast your vote to decide who gets funding in North Ayrshire Council’s latest Arts and Culture Participatory Budgeting (PB) round.

Delivered by their Arts and Culture team via the Shaping North Ayrshire website, the PB funding is ringfenced for artists, creatives, performers, and community groups who have put forward their proposed bids for North Ayrshire.

To vote for them and find out more, visit the website: http://tinyurl.com/4dtvduhx

All votes must be cast before the deadline of midday on Tuesday, February 20.

Votes can also be cast via your local library and at the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine, where staff are on hand to help you with a paper vote, please check opening times for each venue.

This funding forms part of the council’s commitment towards their ongoing community empowerment ambition to give local people a direct say in how money is spent.

Participatory Budgeting funds will be shared between projects across North Ayrshire, covering the key themes of Community Spirit, Green Projects and Health and Wellbeing.

Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet Member for Islands and Communities said: “Local artists, performers and cultural groups have already put forward their applications, now it is time for the public to decide who deserves a share of the £7,200 Arts and Culture PB funding available.

“Up to £400 will be allocated per project and this round we have received 37 applications from projects across our six localities hopeful to be successful in a share.

“Our residents know better than anyone else which projects will be the most beneficial to them in their local communities, so it is only fair that they have the final say on how this money is spent.

“Participatory Budgeting really is an inspirational example of community empowerment in action, and it has already made such a massive difference to many local projects over the last few years. So please take the time to cast your votes!”
