AYRSHIRE'S 'longest running club night' is set to make a grand return to a newly-reopened Saltcoats venue.

FA - originally Funk Agenda - was founded by Ryan Wason some 12 years ago.

Joined by resident DJs Christopher O’Hagan, Dylan Keogh and Jordon Steel, the team is known particularly well in the local area for performing in the old Taylors Hotel in Kilwinning.

But with the hotel having closed down in 2022, it has been more than a year since the quartet last played a show together.

That will all change on Saturday, March 16, when the team reunite to play at The Metro in Saltcoats.

Ryan, Christopher, Dylan and Jordon will be joined on the night by Darren from 808 State who will be playing a 'Hacienda-style' set on the night, recapturing the sound and spirit of the 'Madchester' club scene of the early 1990s.

A fantastic night awaits for all who plan to head to the event, with the FA team also eagerly anticipating the event.

Ryan said: "Ayrshire has a strong musical heritage from the 90s, which seemed to die away, so I originally started FA to try and introduce underground music again, which you would normally hear in clubs in Glasgow, like Sub Club or The Arches.

"Covid stopped all parties for a while, then once we started back we did a few really good nights in Taylors again, but it sadly shut down - so this will be the first one back for more than a year so it should be pretty special."

Ryan has also promised a night of fantastic music at a truly iconic venue.

He added: "FA has always attracted a really good crowd and good atmosphere, so hopefully that continues in the Metro.

"We thought our first night back had to be in the iconic Metro, and it would only be right to get in a massive legend from the 90s in 808 State to pay homage to the music and club back in its heyday - but with a slight twist on it with the Hacienda style tie-in.

"Expect acid house, piano and rave music from the early 90s.

"808 State were true pioneers and legends from the 90s, totally defining that era of music, it will be nothing short of amazing to have one of them here for a DJ set.

"As always with FA we’re keeping ticket prices as cheap as possible too, a bargain to see a true innovator of the music scene."

Tickets for the night are still available online at tinyurl.com/FATheMetro - with a promotional discount available for pre-purchased tickets.
