A FUNDRAISER has been launched to support two Three Towns kids following the sudden loss of their father.

Well-known local Nick Kowalski died on Friday, April 19, following a short illness.

Nick, who worked as a barber in the area, was the sole provider and parent to two children - Lukas, aged 11, and 14-year-old Kristina.

His children are now living in the care of their elderly grandparents, away from their home town.

But the trio made so many friends in the Three Towns community that local residents have rallied round to show their support for the family.

A GoFundMe page has been launched in a bid to support the pair by raising funds to help with any costs they may face after the loss of their beloved dad.

Both Lukas and Christina play football locally, with Tass Thistle and Ardrossan Winton Rovers respectively, and both their sides held minute's silences prior to their most recent matches.

The fund-raising campaign was set up by one of Lukas's former teams, West Kilbride Colts.

The GoFundMe page explains: "Nick was a devoted and proud dad who travelled the length and breadth of the country to support both of the kids in their football.

"Please help raise fund for the kids to help with any costs the family may face, or even enough money for a wee break to hopefully put a smile back on their faces.

"These kids have been through more in their lives than most adults, and have been so brave with everything they have had to deal with."

A fellow parent added: "Only the other week there Nick came along to watch the boys play. I can’t believe we won’t see him at another match.

"These lovely kids' lives have changed overnight. If you can give anything to help support them, it would be appreciated."
